Treasurer
The Treasurer is the main controller of expenditure and keeps records of accounts. They also chase up membership subscriptions.

Notes
1) Currently there are 4 Santander account signatories, David Charlesworth (Account Holder), Rachel Bleach, Cath Tinker, & Roger Morton (ex Treasurer)
2) We have 3 accounts with Santander, All ‘internet accounts’ (no branch service)
3) Expenditures above £50 need authority from the Main Committee.
Cheques require just one account holder signature.
4) There is a useful Excel spreadsheet for keeping day to day records
5) Ideally someone from the Progress Band should keep records of PB subscriptions but ultimately the main band Treasurer receives PB subs and controls outgoings.
Weekly
- Records all Income and Expenditures Note 4
- Banks the cheques and keeps a cash float Note 2
- Pays bills against invoices Note 3
Monthly
- Checks Bank statements against noted Income & Expenditure Note 2
- Backs up PC Records
Quarterly
- Ensure sufficient funds available to pay the Museum rent standing order
- Maintains the list of members (both bands) for subscription records. Note 5
- Chases up unpaid subscriptions (Main and Progress Band) Note 5
- Moves excess funds (if any!) from current account to savings account
At Concerts
- Liaises with the Secretary re. concert fees and how they are to be paid
- Liaises with the Chairman and/or MD as to who gets Dep fees (cash from the float)
- Keeps accounting records for any travel expenses and Band Trips
Annually
- Checks that all subscriptions and concert fees have been paid and chase up as necessary before end year
- Prepares a summary Income and Expenditure Report a for presentation at the AGM
- Proposes Level of Subs for the following year at committee and at the AGM
