Property Master
The Property Master is responsible for issuing and keeping track of instruments and uniform. They monitor the condition of instruments, arranging repairs when necessary, and organizing insurance cover.

3 Dry cleaning happens about every 3-5 years and transportation etc can be organised between members of the committee or band.
4 Minor repairs can be arranged easily and locally. On the rare occasions that more major repairs are needed the band has contacts and arrangements for transportation can be organized between members of the committee or band.
5 Insurance is with Bryan James and Co. They have given good service in the past and cater for the needs of bands such as ours rather than a pop groups as many other music insurers do.
6 Main band property master has overall responsibility for keeping the records for both bands.
7 Only instruments with an individual value of £5,000 or more are itemized on the insurance. All other instruments and equipment are just covered generally.
Instruments
- Keeps the inventory up to date. Note1
- Keeps a record of who has borrowed which instrument.
- Makes sure that each instrument that is borrowed is signed for by the borrower using the appropriate form. Note 2
- Makes sure that when an instrument leaves the store it is in working order.
- Does minor maintenance /repairs inc. stuck slides, mouthpieces, replacement of felts/springs/corks. Help for this is easily sought.
Jackets
- Keeps a check on which jackets are in store and who has each jacket.
- Makes sure that where possible deps are provided with a jacket that more or less fits.
- Occasionally collects jackets in and arrange for them all to be dry cleaned. Note 3
On rare occasions
- Makes arrangements for the repair of an instrument. Note 4
- Liaises with insurance company when necessary. Note 5
Generally
- Keeps the instrument store organized as far as is possible.
- Liaises with whoever is keeping track of the instruments that the progress band is using. Note 6
- Liaises with treasurer to make sure insurance is paid annually.Note 7
