Annual General Meeting -

Roger
Bleach gave his thanks to those who had helped the improvement to the way in
which the Band was run. He informed the meeting that the minutes of last year�s
AGM were on the website
Chris
Maher informed the meeting that a new Bass Trombone had been purchased. He
requested that instruments be cased during rehearsal to prevent damage. Also that a property spreadsheet had been produced where the
instruments could be more accountable.
The
Librarian had nothing to report
Roger
Morton told the AGM that the band had enjoyed a good year for revenue - �700 up
on last year�s �3,000..He proposed that the subscriptions be kept at �80 for
this year with an increase of �5 per annum every two years. This proposal was
agreed
.
Rachel asked where the Weston results were and said that the
datelist would soon be confirmed
Margaret
informed the meeting that she was still actively trying to encourage young
members to the band.
Andrew
Lipscombe asked whether members could ensure that
non-availability to play would be conveyed to him asap so that every effort could be made to find
replacements.
Clare
Lipscombe thanked Carol Maher for producing the Palatians and informed the meeting that 2006 had been a
very good year for publicity

congratulated the band for their hard work throughout the year and
congratulated them on their performance in the contest. He emphasized the need
for players unable to attend rehearsal to let Rachel Bleach know in advance.
Mike asked for members to support the B Band and said that there would be a
structured approach to rehearsals.
Roger
Bleach confirmed that the Xmas concert had raised �2,500 for charity.
He
thanked Mike Gray for his hard work in preparation for the
CPB
membership in the last year had lost one member and gained three.
In
the year ahead, Roger said that the Band should do more of their own concerts
both to raise money for charity and to raise the band�s profile.
He
gave thanks to the Committee, Andrew for his difficult job, Margaret, Rachel,
Ian and Mike.
It
was proposed by Sue Williams that the committee members remain the same. This
was seconded by Sarah Smilth.

Roger informed the
meeting that the band needed to decide on a future rehearsal venue. The Museum
had a celllar for storage of music etc. and
percussion storage need to be discussed with the museum. To have the band based

Ian Whittaker wished
to express his own views on the subject of the B Band, not his views as a
Committee member. He said that during the summer, there was a need for about a
band and a half and that the B Band really needed more support to function
effectively. He felt that the B Band needed to move forward or collapse. He
suggested B Band entry to the Nationals.
Mike
Gray expressed his agreement with Ian�s views and said that any joint
rehearsals would need to be structured and that some involvement from the B
Band could be organised at engagements.
Roger
Morton felt that the Croydon Music Festival was
perfect starting point for the B Band
Ian
Whittaker said that it would be better tp participate
in proper �Brass Band� contests.
